Dr. Ruben Kalra
Trained at Harvard Inanesthesiology and Pain Management
Dr. Ruben Kalra provides integrative and empathetic care to patients in
pain. Born and raised in California and trained at Harvard in
anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. Kalra is both affable and
approachable. He completed an anesthesia and critical care residency at
Harvard's Brigham and Women's hospital followed by a pain management
fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. This stellar program enabled
him to learn first-hand from Brigham's pioneering pain treatment
techniques. Dr. Kalra maintains double board certifications in
anesthesiology and pain medicine. He is the Chairman of the Cross-Campus
Pain Management Team for the John Muir Pleasant Office & Concord Hospitals
and serves as a board member for the California Society of Interventional
Pain Physicians. Dr. Kalra is the treating physician for the California
Highway Patrol, several fire protection districts, and the Bay Area Pain
and Wellness Center Functional Restoration Program. Dr. Kalra has an avid
interest in the use of minimally invasive techniques for the relief of neck
and back pain. Dr. Kalra speaks Spanish and also conversational Mandarin
Chinese, Italian, Hindi, Bulgarian, and Haitian Creole. He enjoys surfing
around the globe, barbecuing, yoga, and gardening. Chief Medical Officer
